Paediatric First Aid: EYFS Statutory Framework Amendments

The Government has recently released an update to the EYFS Statutory Framework for Paediatric First Aid, following a consultation regarding the requirements of First Aid provisions within Nursery and Childcare settings. Page 10 of this document outlines the Government’s response to the findings, and their proposed changes include the mandatory training of all Level 2 and Level 3 candidates in Paediatric First Aid within 3 months of completing their Childcare qualification, in order for them to be included in ratio numbers.

Subject to Parliamentary approval, the Government intends to publish the amendments with a view to them coming into force from the 1st September 2016. A revised EYFS will be published alongside this update to reflect the proposed changes.
