Moving into March, we are already seeing sunnier days, warmer weather, and lighter evenings, a welcome relief from the long, cold winter! Daffodils, tulips, snowdrops and crocuses are all coming out and the first signs of blossom can be seen. How exciting!
Spring to many symbolises a period for rebirth and renewal, with lent having started following pancake day on the 28th February, Easter being celebrated next month, and the clocks going forward on the 26th March. It’s also a good point in the year to remember and revise our New Year’s Resolutions. Have you got any special challenges for the coming months? Perhaps you are giving up chocolate for lent, or aiming to learn a new language by Christmas – now is a great time to refresh these ideas, have a clear out of old habits, and “spring” forward into the coming months leading up to Summer.
For GlobeUs, we have been revising our current suite of courses recently, getting in touch with lots of new and existing customers to touch base and support where we can. We have revamped the website, adding finishing touches to make it easier for people to access, and have opened up our Live Chat function so individuals can contact us through a variety of different channels at any time.
We’ve also refreshed our own vision for the next few months, gaining a huge amount of confidence from our recent award at The Portsmouth News Business Excellence Awards. We were awarded Highly Commended for Start Up Business of the Year, giving us a huge boost to keep moving forward and grow! We are therefore piloting 3 new venues this month for Personal Licence: Reading on the 7th, Guildford on the 14th, and Swindon on the 27th. We feel confident to spread our wings and expand our horizons so we very much look forward to meeting new clients and employers over the next few weeks. Fancy coming along to one? Book now on our webpage.
We are also anticipating the result for the ROATP application for Apprenticeships this month, with the main route (to be included on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers) being announced on the 6th, and the Invitation to Tender result (ITT, for a direct SFA contract) released on the 14th. This is a big milestone for GlobeUs Training, and we will of course update you as and when we hear any further – it is incredibly exciting to have the opportunity so we are keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed for good luck!
Speaking of Apprenticeships, next week (6th – 10th March) is National Apprenticeships Week 2017, marking the 10th Anniversary of the National Apprenticeships Service. We have lots of activities planned, including our Apprentice Awards, Fact Nugget Tweets, Photo of the Day, and much more! Keep watching our Social Media pages and our Blog for updates.
We have 2 key events to celebrate this month, too – Mothering Sunday is on the 26th, so remember to send a message, card, present, or whatever you feel is appropriate to mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, or any other mother-figures in your life to show them your appreciation.
It is also Red Nose Day on the 24th March, so we’d love to see your pictures if you are getting involved! Email them to info@globeustraining.com, or Tweet to @GlobeUsTraining to show us what you have been up to. We will also be sharing our fundraising activities, so watch our pages for more silly pictures all for a good cause, of course.
Finally, a reminder that the clocks go forward on the 26th March (Spring foward, Fall back) and we move into daylight saving time (British Summer Time). Don’t forget and show up an hour late to work!
Thanks for reading, and we will see you soon.
