The month starts and ends with a bank holiday which is lovely, so I hope you all find some time to rest and relax before moving into the middle summer months and head towards the autumn. It all seems to be going by so quickly.
April has been another hectic month for team GlobeUs with some important changes being announced with regards to Apprenticeships funding. We were delighted to be included on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers a few weeks ago, but were unfortunately disappointed to read that due to an over-subscription of funds, the SFA will be halting proceedings for the time being. But not to fear! We will carry on as we are and take the many positives from the outcome, not least of all making the best use of the time it has allowed us to continue our efforts in redesigning our marketing materials, and hopefully moving to online e-portfolios which is extremely exciting.
We are still recruiting for an additional Assessor too, to join the Childcare team, so watch this space for updates on how it all goes!
Functional Skills have hit a bit of a wave this month which is fantastic to see – we have had so many candidates pass recently and whilst it is all part and parcel of the Apprenticeships framework, the achievement is nonetheless great – Functional Skills can be a challenge for so many, so every pass is one to be celebrated. Well done to you all!
A success for GlobeUs this month has once again been our APLH licencing course; we added an additional Bristol date a few weeks ago for the 3rd May due to it’s popular demand, and it sold out within just under 3 weeks. This is unprecedented! We have another booked for June already which is filling up, so do be quick if you are planning on joining us.
We are also increasingly busy in our staple venues of Southampton, Bournemouth and Brighton and have added a brand new venue for May of Plymouth – so watch out South West, we’re coming for you! It’s really exciting to see this course being rolled out in new places further afield, and to be able to offer it to so many more individuals – it’s one of our favourite courses to deliver, so we are really keen to keep expanding!
Our very own Ellen had a real-life First Aid experience this month, helping a lady with a bad head injury. It reminded us of our resolutions made at the start of the year, and reignited our passion to get First Aid training to as many people as we possibly can so watch this space for our brand new marketing campaign. It is such a vital, life-long skill to have, so we are excited to breathe new life into the training.
Luke was extremely busy this month, giving up 4 of his 5 Saturdays to deliver Paediatric First Aid training; the first in Portsmouth with Good Manors Day Nursery, and the second on the Isle of Wight with Freshwater Early Years Centre and an additional candidate who joined us. This was a lovely addition to the courses this month, and refreshing to deliver a course we are all so passionate about and enjoy doing. We had some really good feedback too from attendees, which makes the job so worthwhile. It’s lovely to see new and familiar faces at these courses too, with both of these clients being repeat customers, so thank you to the managers for choosing us again for your delivery – to be trusted with something so important is a real honour.
We celebrated Easter in the middle of April, which is always a really welcome break after a busy start to any year. The long weekend really feels like a bonus holiday, so we hope you all had a lovely and relaxing time and didn’t eat too much chocolate! It’s nice to come back after Easter really refreshed too, ready for the coming weeks leading into our much-deserved summer holidays.
I think that is a main summary of the past 4 or 5 weeks for GlobeUs, so I hope you have enjoyed reading and I look forward to updating you more over the next few weeks.
Bye for now!
