August is here already, and we are hurtling through the year at an incredible speed. Typically for GlobeUs, July was another very busy month, but as ever it’s been an exciting time for us! We celebrated our first birthday this month, and celebrated in true Brit fashion with tea and cake, and an office filled with bunting and balloons. We couldn’t have survived this past year without the incredible support from our friends, family, colleagues, and of course our amazing clients, so thank you to everybody for being with us for the journey so far.
In a month that saw St Swithin’s Day and World Chocolate Day, we began to see the changes planned for Apprenticeships over the next year or so. For GlobeUs, we are looking to expand our sectors to include Hospitality and Retail, which is incredibly exciting for us – you’ll have to watch this space! We launched our brand new award for any aspiring Assessors this month, so if you are keen to get into the industry please take a look! The Apprenticeships Levy is still planned to come into effect from April next year, but please keep an eye on our news feed to hear the latest updates about this and how it may impact on delivery.
Talking of updates, we are waiting for confirmation of the planned changes to the EYFS in September, which will impact on the Paediatric First Aid requirements within Childcare providing settings. We will keep our news feed up to date should anything change, but we’re very much welcoming the changes as we believe it to be imperative for anyone working with children to have the skills required to keep them safe and well.
We’re looking forward to including PFA delivery as part of our Apprenticeships offer, especially as we are growing at an incredible pace! We are looking at having to recruit another Assessor for Childcare later in the year as we go into 2017. Keep an eye on our Vacancies page as well as social media if you would be interested in coming aboard the good ship GlobeUs.
We’ve formed a few new partnerships this month which is incredibly exciting for us, helping to support and promote local businesses and charities, and to help contribute to our local and wider communities. We’ve helped a local Nursery, Starfish, with a recruitment day – this was something brand new for us, but incredibly enjoyable to help invite people into the world of childcare and build confidence for individuals. Starfish is one of our newest settings and we thank them for allowing us the opportunity to work with them and help develop skills within the Childcare industry.
Another partnership that has been formed is with another local training provider, Lynbyrd Express. We are helping Lynbyrd with their delivery of Food Safety and First Aid courses, to all sorts of clients including local charity organisations. This has been an incredibly rewarding thing to undertake for GlobeUs, as we’re able to see first hand the amazing impact education has on people’s lives and just reminds us of why we do what we do and why we love it!
That’s a brief round-up on the news from the last few weeks. August is set to be another growth month for the company, so we’re looking forward to seeing what September’s blog looks like – who knows what the future holds!
